Tunnel (2026)

Tunnel is a two-channel video installation consisting of two large projection screens positioned at opposite ends of the exhibition space. The videos are assembled from footage found online, recorded by different individuals over more than two decades. These are incidental, vernacular recordings of the same tunnel made during bike rides, walks, and flashlight explorations, using phones, cheap digital cameras, and GoPros.

This tunnel was repurposed as a pedestrian and cycling route around the same time that consumer digital cameras and online video culture emerged. Through the rise of accessible recording technologies and online circulation, the tunnel develops a digital double: a virtual twin composed not only of its physical structure, but also of the accumulated echoes and traces of the people passing through it.
