Proposal for a Reconstruction (2021)
Proposal for a Reconstruction was developed during a residency organized by Cas-co in the context of the Big Bang city festival in Leuven, Belgium. The title of the installation originates from captions found beneath illustrations of prehistoric humans in archaeological reference works. These images often serve as the basis for museum dioramas: large-scale artificial environments populated by life-sized figures of early humans, prehistoric structures, taxidermied animals, and props. Proposal for a Reconstruction brings together objects associated with dioramas as well as items from my parental home, merging a public display with an intimate interior known only to a few.
