Deluge Prelude (2024)
Gurgling, dripping, whistling, banging, bubbling, popping, ticking, rattling, knocking, screeching, creaking, and groaning. The ability of drains to emit strange, inexplicable and sometimes almost otherworldly sounds is no secret. The causes of these noises may vary. Plumbers blame clogging, a dysfunctional venting system, a leak, or the roots of trees. Others more prone to paranoid speculation might point to demons, or evil spirits as those responsible for the pandemonium in their sinks, the uproar in their sewers. They may hear voices coming from the drain, whispering bad omens. Messages from the underworld to warn us for some inevitable event – a portent of things to come.
